Positive week for Conservatives in Mid Beds

Monday, 8 May, 2017

Last week was a good and positive one for us in Mid Bedfordshire, with two successful events.

Firstly, on Tuesday 2nd May, Nadine Dorries was re-adopted as our candidate to stand in the forthcoming General Election. The Executive Committee voted hugely in favour of Nadine representing us again, with Members then giving their equally large support. After the meetings were closed, Nadine held a 40 minute Q & A session when she answered questions ranging from the election, the House of Lords, a number of domestic policy issues, local issues, and the French Presidential vote, all accompanied by food and wine.

Our second event, held on Thursday 4th at Central Beds Council Offices, saw the successful election of Mark Liddiard to represent that part of Shefford which Lewis Birt had previously represented. Mark’s majority was substantial, and followed a very active campaign through Shefford, Campton, Chicksands and Meppershall. The picture below shows Mark, flanked by Colin Wark, Martin Hawkins (Agent), and James Jamieson. As was mentioned to Mark said after the result “now the really hard work begins.”
